This is my introductory post corresponding to October 10 assignment, but like I mentioned before, I had access to eclass just yesterday, so here I go.
I graduated in Communication Studies in Venezuela and also last june I finished a MBA with a specialization in Marketing Management.
My background is in advertising, planning event and specially in marketing. My last job was as Marketing Coordinator in DIRECTV which is one of the world's leading providers of satellite television entertainment services in the U.S. and Latin America.
I was in charge to design, develop and implement marketing strategies related to the outstanding content of TV programming that promote the benefits of the brand. These campaigns were addressed to both the internal and external customer through different media: TV, Newspapers, Web, Social Media, BTL activities and others. Some of the most important campaigns in the last days were (including planning events): The Oscars Academy Awards, Premiere Movies and Series, MLB, NBA, European Football Leagues, Exclusives DIRECTV´s Channels (DIRECTV Sports, OnDIRECTV), London Olympics 2012, World Cup Brasil 2014.
During this position I had my first contact with social media plan and for that reason I decided to develop my MBA´s final project about Social Media. In this way, I developed a strategic social media plan for DIRECTV Venezuela which was totally applicable to reality and I hope they are using it now.
As you can see the communication plays an important role in my work´s life and of course in my everyday life. At this moment, I am specially interested in a formal preparation about social media because I would like to figure out the best way to measure the results, in other words, I need to expand my knowledge about analytics and finally I would like to learn more about strategies and promotions of social media through best practices in the market.
