Effective Social Media Communication
Good evening everyone, my name is Dawn Horne and I work for a not for profit organization that delivers the professional designation and continuing education to the insurance industry. I've been in my position for five years after a long career in the insurance industry. Over the last two years my job has changed drastically with the introduction of social media, an updated website, and the introduction of CASL. I find that writing, whether it be on a website, twitter or via email to our membership, has become a major part of what I do on a daily basis and being able to adjust to the different styles of the various platforms can be a challenge.
I'm hoping that I will be able to find effective ways to communicate with our membership, develop a sense of community and promote dialogue about relevant issues within our industry. That's the big picture at least, first step will be to become proficient with the social media platforms! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone face to face tomorrow, it's been very interesting reading everyone's blogs!
